ABOUT TIPESHWAR TIGER RESERVE
Located in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, the sanctuary derives its name from Goddess Tipai located near Tipeshwar village in the sanctuary area. The sanctuary is characterized by lush vegetation. Since there are various villages located around the sanctuary, people depend upon the forest for sustenance. It has hilly and undulating terrain that supports diverse vegetation.
The region can be dubbed as ‘Green Oasis’ in the southern Maharashtra. The place is a home to wide array of animals like hyena, chital, black buck, sambar, jackal, wild boar, peacock, monkey, blue bull, wild cat and bear.
